The History of NC*(Numerical Control)
1947 - Development of a control system that directed a
spindle to many positions in succession.
1951 - The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) added
a computer to the 1947 (Parsons Corporation) system.
1952 - Cincinnati Milicron developed the first
three-axis numerically controlled (NC) tape-fed (paper) machine tool.
1954 - NC was announced to the public
1957 - The first production NC machines were delivered
and installed.
1960 - NC machine tools became commonly available
